Pay it forward

Thank you Carolyn from Draffin Bears.

I received this lovely award from a follow kiwi blogger. She has been loyal and faithful to my blog since i started. I usually find her comment first on my list. If there was an award for faithfulness she should get it.
She has kindly bestowed this award on myself and there are two rules,
1) I need to tell you 7 thinks about myself and..
2) I need to pass it on to 10 people which wouldn't be hard.

Things that you might not know about me:
1) I was born in Auckland New Zealand and lived there mostly for 37 years apart from the years I was away with my family.
2) I am a trained Primary school teacher
3) I have two brothers, one who lives in Holland and one who lives in Auckland.
4) I spent many of my childhood years in other countries, I lived in the States, - California and Arizona and also England.
5) I moved to Australia with my hubby and 3 children 7 years ago and now live in Cronulla, Sydney.
6) I have three beautiful children who constantly blow me away. They are 15, 17 and 19 and with their Dad are my world.
7) I retrained into the world of floristry in 2010. It is something I have always loved and been interested in. One day i hope to have my own creative company.

Rangitoto - What I think of when I think of home.

Cronulla Beach Sydney, my home now - I am never too far from the sea.

A new toy!

No it is not about France, it is not flowers or furniture but it is very very cool.
I have the new ipad 2 and I am officially obsessed.
Great for travels, can't store but I am madly learning my way around this awesome device.
Thank you Mr Apple.

Yes I am returning to my belle France. This time 2 weeks in Paris- staying in the 6th very close to Luxemburg gardens, 1 week in Alpe de Heus- with my brother who will be riding for cancer, 2 weeks in Provence, one of them cooking ( with hubby in tow)....and exploring a new country for me - Spain.
I am blessed.

Just because it's Wednesday

Sometimes mid week we need a little boost.
Some like to call Wednesday "hump day" and it does feel like that at times.
In my home town we have a French market on a Wednesday and what better way to get over the hurdle.
Off to the market I went with my little wicker basket in hand ..
and filled it with these, they are now sitting on my desk, my table and my kitchen bench.
If I could I would have left them bundled up like this.
I just think they look delicious!

Meow!

I had a proud Mum moment this week. My son has been
practising his heart out in a local Musical society performance of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Cats.
This week they debut .
My son Tyler played Alonzso and I must say did a fabulous job.
We have always been a musical family, our kids have been to them since they were little.
The last time we saw Cats I remember my son asking --" How do you get into these things? "
Well being the determined character he is - he found out - auditioned and was the youngest cast member bar one.
Unfortunately we were unable to take photos during the performance but those who have been to Cats know that the Cast members have fun with the audience at half time.
He certainly did. His brother and sister thought he was fabulous and so did we.

Hope you all have a fabulous week.

What's on your desk?

Fresh Flowers from the Market

In the most perfect shade ---and they smell divine

Little bottles -- can't resist- everyone needs a little love

Candles scented in Vanilla bean, caramel and biscotti

Lite reading --- I'm not obsessed or anything

Thoughts from a friend

Little tricket boxes

Thought you might like a visit today

I was sitting in bed this morning and had the luxury of a Sunday morning lazy start to the day.
My daughter graced me with Tea and Toast, which my little dog was very happy about.
Hubby is away on business and so it is quiet in the house today.
The roses at the top of my blog were opening beautifully and so I thought I would photograph them - it's been a while since I touched a flower -- instead I looked around my desk and saw all my little "me" things.
I sit here every day and catch up with my world.
Thought you might like a peek.
What's on your desk today?

Lost but now found

can be purchased here

I'm very excited. I have found one of my treasures that I thought was lost.
My hubby gave me this cookbook for my birthday in the first year of our marriage.
It really does prove that my love affair with France has been alive and well for a very long time.
I remember perusing the pages lovingly and wondering if I would ever get to see these glorious images for myself.
I have and I will again.
Today on the menu is..
SUPRÈMESE DE VOLAILLE AU PISTOU
Chicken breasts stuffed with Pistou

Very simple but ...
very French.

If it turns out I will take a photo

Wandering through the markets, alley ways and streets of Aix en Provence it is not hard to see it's unique colour palette ...It's beautiful. I took these on my trip with my daughter last year.
Some how the Mistral winds of Provence are calling my name once again and I will be going back to explore and discover more of these beautiful part of the world..
I have more to come but didn't want these photos to be forgotten.
